September - performed role of King Lear in the Shakespeare production by Theatre iNQ, in Townsville, North Queensland, Australia

December - performed movement piece for Contemporaneamente - il Cubo dei Sogni (organised and curated by Gruppo Tracce)

2010 & 2011 moved to Salento in southern Italy.  Began work on writing Theatre By Storm - a personal view of my experience as a member of the KISS Research Theatre Ensemble 1970-82

until 2009
-  Artistic director of Darwin Theatre Company in the Northern Territories of Australia.  Directed three productions for the company in 2005 and responsible for artistic planning and programming. In 2006, directed Shakespeare's Othello, starring Tom E. Lewis as Othello, the first Aboriginal actor to play this role.  Later restaged this production in Townsville.  Also in 2006, directed 'The Road to Minyerri', a community performance event in a remote Aboriginal community in the NT's Roper Valley region.  In 2007, played the role of Professor Cornelius Crabbe in the DTC/JUTE co-production of Stephen Carleton's award-winning play 'Constance Drinkwater and the Final Days of Somerset'.  This play was performed for the Darwin and Cairns Festivals.

       (participants won 1st & 2nd places in Qld.Young Playwrights Awards);

-  Wrote BEYOND THE SURFACE, a report on re-developing the ARTS
       Transit fund for touring regional theatre (commissioned by Arts Qld)
-  Played Shylock in Tropic Line's production of 'Merchant of Venice' and
       Thomas Beckett in 'Murder in the Cathdral'
-  Lyricist for MUSYC IT, a project run by James Cook University, working
       with young people in remote NQ to write songs based on interviews with  
       elders in their communities (funded Arts Qld).
-  Wrote five sketches for performance celebrating 120th year of
       Townsville Bulletin newspaper (funded TSV Bulletin); wrote adaptation of
       Charles Dicken's 'A Christmas Carol' for Townsville Civic Theatre
-  Wrote SPLISH, SPLASH full-length musical for La Luna Youth Arts

2000 -  Directed 'A Life in the Theatre' for Tropic Line Theatre Company &
       'The Cemetery Club' for Burdekin Theatre, Ayr.
-  Wrote play based on the stories of Aboriginal elders of the Townsville
       region, in collaboration with Wyrrugnu Collective (funded AQ, RADF);   
-  Wrote commissioned play, 'Outside Lives' (funded by Arts Queensland
       and by the Theatre Fund of the Australia Council)
-  'Outside Lives' performed by Tropic Line Theatre Company (December
       2000 - production funded by Theatre Fund, Australia Council).    
-  Writing workshops at Shalom College and Cleveland Detention Centre
1999 -  Directed 'Auntie Mame' at Burdekin Theatre, Ayr.
-  Wrote 'The Spider Witch' a solo performance piece for the New Country
       project, run by Daphne Cazalet. Performed at Queensland Biennial in
       Townsville (funded by RADF and CCDF, Australia Council)
-  Wrote 'Playing Away with Youth' two short plays based on the
       experiences of migrant youth (project sponsored by Ethnic Communities
       Council of Queensland and funded by Arts Queensland)
-  Creative writing workshops Hughenden branch of the Qld Arts Council:
       the Bauhinia Festival of the Arts (Rockhampton);  young playwright
       development program for La Luna Youth Arts;  tutored at INTERPLAY    
1998 -  Directed Samuel Becket's 'Waiting for Godot' for Tropic Line Theatre
-  Wrote 'The World Comes to Ingham', community show for the
       Australian-Italian Festival, Ingham, N.Q. (funded by Festivals  Australia)
-  Wrote 'Playing Away', a series of four short plays based on the
       experiences of migrant residents of Townsville (project sponsored by Ethnic
       Communities Council Qld and funded by CCDF, Australia Council)
-  Short stories accepted for publication in Woman's Day and Australian
       Women's Weekly.  Short story "The Last Sunrise' shortlisted for the
       Todhunter Literary Award (WA)
1992 - 97 -  Manager, Townsville Civic Theatre and president, Northern Australian
       Regional Performing Arts Centres Association (NARPACA).
-  Wrote, directed and acted for various companies including Tropic Line
       Theatre Company and wrote texts for special project for Dance North
1988 - 92 -  Artistic director of Shopfront Theatre for Young People, Sydney.
       Directed nearly forty shows and wrote several plays. Created
       multicultural arts officer position. Organized and led tours by young
       performers to all states in Australia, as well as to Thailand, Korea,
       Japan, Canada & U.S. 
-  Dramaturg NIDA Playwrights Studio (1992) and chair, NSW Youth
       Theatres Association (1990 - 92)
1983 - 87 -  Freelance directing and writing for community and young people's projects in   Victoria, SA and Qld with Daphne Cazalet, including co-directing Young Mobile Theatre, a $250,000 year-long arts project in regional S.A.
1970 - 82 Working largely with KISS Research Theatre Co. throughout Europe and in U.S. and Australia.  Employed initially as actor but later also took on role of company dramaturg, writing or adapting most KISS productions.
